Hi Bartolomeij, my name is Ivan. I met you in New York subway . I asked you about your camera and your magic 35mm lens. You told me that you was thinking for a long time to buy it ant that it takes beautiful pictures. I gave you an apple pie). I have Canon 450D remember?) You
told me it was your backup camera on wedding shooting. Well, i’m going to purchase a new lens for my 450D and doubting what lens to chose: cheaper 50mm 1.4 or more expensive 35mm 1.4. Could you please advice
?Maybe you used both of this lenses and can compare it. i rely on your opinion as an expert in photography. Thank you in advance, your help will be appreciated. Bye bye) Ivan

Hi Ivan, sure I remember you
And apple pie. Having 450D I would chose 28mm 1.8 i think. 35L is quite pricy, and you will get about 50mm effective with your 1,6x crop factor which is not enough. Its worth every penny, as long as you earn them with it.
50mm 1.4 is great, not as sharp and quick as 35L. Since I have 35L I barely use it. Before then, I was using it constantly.
28mm 1.8 is a bargain. Still wide wnoulg to fit some action and surrounding on frame.
It all depends on how much is 100$ for you. If you have lots of them to spare, buy 35L. If not, 28mm and 50mm are great.
Take care
Bartek
